Core Literacy Portfolio Support

Download the Portfolio Handbook (pdf) from ETF. (Make sure to scroll down to the tenth grade section.) Contains a detailed explanation of the portfolio components as well as the scoring rubric and a blank copy of a speaking certificate.

In order to have a wide selection of work to choose from when you are preparing your portfolio, keep all of your completed work from your ninth and tenth grade years. Successful portfolios contain work from a variety of subject areas, so don't throw anything away - even if you aren't sure whether or not you should include it. Many ninth grade social studies and English teachers also keep folders of completed and graded work for each student. These folders will be passed on to the tenth grade English teachers and given to the students.
