UPCOMING
EVENTS:
Tam's Annual Back to Tam Day
Back to Tam Day has settled in and will always be the first Saturday after Labor Day. This year, Back to Tam Day is scheduled for September 6th.
Tam's new Principal, Tom Drescher, is going to do his best at getting the students to participate more fully this year. Tam will also provide a maintenance worker to open selected rest rooms, deliver the BBQs, etc.
The real benefit of this event was best described by Jeff McCreary, Tam ’61 a retired School Principal: Imagine the change in how the students will treat the campus and its community of teachers and classmates when they share a shovel with the alumni and former teachers and hear the good-old stories and legends surrounding Tam.
This year the day will start at 9:00 a.m.and finish up about noon with a BBQ.
The Tam Alumni Association provides all of the money for the event; the Tam Alumni Group only ask that administrators, staff, teachers, students, parents, alumni, and friends of Tam come join us in the fun.
This year after the BBQ, and for the first time, the Alumni Group is hoping to have the Mill Valley Historical Society repeat their docent historical tour of Tam that they did on Centennial (Memorial Day) Weekend and have both movies, also shown on Centennial Weekend, shown in Caldwell Theater.
It’ll be another fun BTTD - the seventh!
Tam High Homecoming
The Tamalpais High School Leadership class is inviting retirees to participate
in the homecoming festivities on October 25th, 2008. The class is looking
for participants and floats for the parade at noon of the 25th, from downtown
Mill Valley to Tam High, as usual.
The class is trying to improve the quality and number of floats for this year, and is hoping the Alumni Association would like to submit a float. And of course, George is welcome to drive his Model A in addition!
The class will also be soliciting judges for the floats, and would like an alumni member on the judging panel.
